Working with local copies

This chapter gives guidance on how to work with local copies of documentation repositories.

Prepare main repository

To start with reviewing changes, make sure to clone the main repository of the documentation https://github.com/onecx/docs and install packages using npm i.

Replace remote repositories

In the documentation main repository, a list of sources will be present with already defined documentations. All of the are referencing a remote repository via the url property. In order to use local changes, overwrite the remote url with a local path of the selected documentation. This path should be global or relative to the directory of the main documentation local copy.

Build

To build the documentation run npx antora antora-playbook.yml. The command will report any warning or errors during site building. Utilize them to identify issues prior to accessing the generated pages.

Access

Successful site generation will result in a build directory in the main documentation root. This directory contains all pages required to display the whole documentation. Access any page by opening desired index.html file or open build/site/index.html file to access the main page of the documentation use navigation.
